Nominations are now open for WCOG’s
annual Kenneth F. Bunting Award

The Washington Coalition for Open Government is seeking nominations for the third annual Kenneth F. Bunting Award to be presented this fall. The Award, named for the former Associate Publisher of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, is given to honor journalistic work that uses, discusses, informs, or exposes violations of the state’s transparency laws. It is designed to honor journalism that promotes transparency and openness at all levels of government.

“It’s hard to believe three years have passed since we began honoring journalists with this award. Ken was passionate about press freedoms, freedom of information, and openness in government. I know he would be honored WCOG recognizes these hard working journalists,” said Juli Bunting who currently advises WCOG on communications and fundraising.

Nominations are open until May 31 and include any work published, broadcast, or posted between June 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017.  Nomination forms and guidelines are available here.

The award will be presented on Friday, September 22, at the annual Madison-Andersen Awards breakfast. Details for that event are also available on our Upcoming Events page.

Deadline for nominations is May 31st.
